The Project

DUPLO is an international research project co-funded from EU 7th Framework Programme funds. The project Full-Duplex Radios for Local Access (DUPLO) aims at developing new technology and system solutions for future generations of mobile data networks by introducing a new full-duplex radio transmission paradigm, the same carrier frequency is used for transmission and reception at the same time. The approach holds the potential to significantly increase the capacity, and will focus on energy efficient solutions which also enable a more flexible use of the spectrum.

DUPLO will study and develop technical solutions for efficient self-interference cancellation in wireless transceiver to enable usage of full-duplex transmission in different nodes of the wireless communications networks, including access points, devices and relay nodes.




Simultaneous transmission and reception on the same carrier frequency by cancellation of the self-interference.


DUPLO project will provide new analogue and digital techniques for self-interference cancellation and antenna and circuit solutions for full-duplex transceivers.


A full proof of concept setup will be implemented. This setup will enable a real time test of complete full-duplex transceiver solutions and full-duplex link.
